Quinn was born on the Homeworld (one of the parallel
Earth). Quinn's parents had sliding technology. When terrible civil
war with the Kromaggs (a differently evolved species who had previously
lived in peace with the humans) broke out, his parents took him and
his brother Colin Mallory to live with Mr and Mrs Mallorys' doubles
on two separate alternate earths, in order to keep them safe. Quinn
ended up on Earth Prime. Quinn's real parents told his foster parents
that if they won the war, they would return to take back their children.
After two years, the war against the Kromaggs on the Homeworld was won,
but when Quinn's real parents went to collect Quinn from his foster
parents, his foster parents loved him so much they hid him so that they
wouldn't have to let him go. Quinn's foster father died in a traffic
accident when Quinn was 11, and Quinn was brought up by his foster mother.
Quinn did not discover he was adopted until the season 4 Sliders episode
"Genesis".

At age 12, Sabrina Lloyd started her acting career by appearing in
a local theater production of "Annie." There, she played Pepper, because
she wanted to be a bully, having been bullied all her life. From then
on, she knew she wanted to be an actress. She continued to perform in
local theater, appearing in productions of "Grease," "Crimes of the
Heart," and "Wizard of Oz." When she was 18, she moved to New Yo rk
and spent some time as a bartender while knocking on doors and auditioning
for roles. Her first big break was a guest appearance on an episode
of "Law and Order" called "Intolerance," which got her a new agent and
launched her carrer. Her first breakout role in feature films was the
movie Chain of Desire (1992), followed by a starring role in Father
Hood (1993) with Patrick Swayze. Sabrina also made appearances on television
starring in the TV movies The Coming Out of Heidi Leiter (TV) and Off-Limits
(TV). In 1995, Sabrina auditioned for the role of Wade Welles in the
pilot episode of "Sliders" (1995). Every actress she knew tried out
for the part, but there was something about Sabrina that caught the
eye of the producers. They had her audition five times, but the producers
knew that they had found their star. Sabrina won the part and her rocket
to stardom began.

store with Quinn and is his best friend. Except she's secretly in love
with Quinn but he is too dense to realize (until the Season One episode
"Last Days" when they finally get to do some tongue wrestling). She
had at least one ex-boyfriend and is a great believer in all things
mystical, gothic and supernatural. She tried out the wormhole with him
when he hadn't yet tested it, and was stuck sliding randomly with Quinn,
Rembrandt, and her own world's Professor Arturo, trying to get home.

Remmy has 5 gold records and was in a band in the
70's named the "Spinning Tops". He has played at the Apollo theater
and in Rome, and banned from playing at a place in Abilene. He broke
up with his band because of "ego issues." He is known as the "Cryin'Man"
for his ability to make real tears come out of his eyes. He owned a
red cadillac which he drove into the vortex in the pilot episode. He
also likes to fish. One fateful day in 1995, Rembrandt's agent got him
a gig singing the National Anthem at the local Candlestick Park. It
was going to be Rembrandt Brown's big comeback. However, on his way
there, Rembrandt and his car ran into a vortex and Remmy never made
it to the ballgame. Even though he is not with the Sliders by choice,
he still likes the adventure, but he would like to go home. He is faithful
to the group, because in a way it is his family now.

Arturo's father fought in World War II and was stationed
in India. His mother remained at home to take care of young Maximillian.
She died in the blast trying to shield him. He spent the next several
months in an orphanage until his father returned home from India. While
in graduate school, he met and married a woman named Christina Fox.
He was married to her for a few years before she died of a brain aneurysm
at the age of 27. He taught at the University of California at Berkley
as a professor of quantum physics and relativity. Among his students
were Quinn. Quinn's alternate slid into Earth Prime while Quinn was
taking his first slide and insulted Professor Arturo. Quinn tried to
make amends for his double's actions, and told him he had found a way
of crossing the ERP Bridge. Despite his anger at Quinn, the Professor
was concerned about his recent behaviour. He went along to Quinn's house
with Quinn's friend Wade Welles and was astounded to be shown the sliding
machine, and the equation that Smarter Quinn had managed to complete.
The Professor, Quinn, Wade, and involuntary passenger Rembrandt Brown
then took that first slide to many adventures.

off to a Girls' Academy. Her father later died while on a diplomatic
mission. His plane was shot down and he died on impact. She married
scientist Steven Jensen and they lived for a few years in a small house
in San Francisco until Jensen was murdered by Col. Rickman in the TV
episode "Exodus".

Charlie O'Connell -- Jerry's real-life brother. A recent graduate of
New York University's School of Drama, Charlie also attended Strasberg
Institute and Atlantic Theatre, which David Mamet started. He appeared
on CBS' daytime drama Guiding Light. His theatre credits include the
Richard Foreman play, Dr. Selavy's Magic Theatre with David Patrick
Kelly and Opra Opera. Charlie also modeled on the runways in New York
for ZOLI Model Management. For two years, Charlie was captain of NYU's
fencing team, receiving an NCAA Bronze Medal in 1994 and a Gold Medal
in 1996.

His foster parents died from Influenza when Colin was a small child

home-made batteries, things that the other people of his world didn't
approve of. The people in his village thought he was doing the devil's
work and shunned him, often spitting at him in the street. He had a
sweetheart called Susannah, but her mother disapproved of him and tried
to stop Colin coming anywhere near her daughter. Colin lived on his
own and was a very lonely young man, with only his inventions to keep
him occupied. Perhaps due to his sheltered life, Colin is very naive
